I have heard of some talk about about running used motor oil out of your truck. In the fuel tank if your filtered it through a 2 micron filter and ran like 3 quarts to a full tank it would be a way of getting rid of it and i was told it just makes massive amounts of black smoke im young and i dont mind the smoke one bit i was just wandering if any one new any info about that?

tranny oil/ used engine/ oil 2 stroke/veggie oil/ NONE of the listed things should make ANY black smoke, diesel engine is heat of compression and will burn just about any combustable fuel, I've never seen any more black smoke than you would normally see with diesel as fuel,

its a good idea to add some form of oil to your fuel nowadays because of the loss of sulfer in it. Ive used motor oil a lot when i can get it clean enough and I doesnt black smoke anymore than usual. Oh by the way dont ever use synthetic oil to add back to fuel.

ok well im just going off what i heard about the smoke and it does make sense that it wouldnt. i was just wandering how to filter it and if i should start off with a 50/50 or alot more diesel and little oil.

i have just taken a filter setup off of like a aux tank and pumped it through there using a hand pump. But make sure there is no water in the oil also

Your talking black diesel. I have run up 90% waste oil and 10 diesel fuel, that will create some serious black smoke if you lug it.
