Has anyone tapped into the air horn? I was wonder if it was thick enough for that? I have read a few people say to do this but they never say if THEY did it. I'd hate to find out after I tried it. Also I thought I read somewhere that the '03's IAT was not in the block. Is is this true?

Does anyone have anymore feedback on this?
Also, I would think a standard threaded pipe plug would be sufficient to fill the factory spot after the IAT was removed.

sounds like a ricer mod to me.. I can see moving it to a cleaner location, but not for power gains

Couldn't you just cut the wire to the plug and solder in some more wire to make the wire longer? Why would you need to buy a relocating harness and stuff?

If your gonna buy a new one, just leave the old one in its place.

Blue, thats just what I was thinking. Solder in new wires and get a new weatherpak connector. I wouldnt be doing it for performance gain just convienence.

Why would you need to get a new connector? Just leave some extra wire hanging off the back of the stock connector when you cut it. That way you'd have some wire to solder to. Anyone know what size plug is needed to plug up the IAT hole?

Well your almost right. I want to move mine so the exhaust brake wont gunk it up. Since I wont have to clean it anymore that means easier cleaning. No performance gains that I know of. I am surprised though that with all the problems I was reading about how lots of people were having trouble with MPG and performance and how most of these issues were related to the IAT being gunked up from the exhaust brake that there isnt more who have tried moving it. I hear the 3rd gens IAT's arent in the blocks. Maybe DC knows something.

KATOOM,

I drilled and tapped my air horn for my boost gauge. I didn't measure how thick it was, but it was plenty heavy to hold a brass fitting, maybe 3/16". I'm thinking seriously about relocating my IAT too. I wouldn't hesitate to drill and tap it again. Hope this helps.
