Exclamation Real Low on Power (FIXED)

Had a code P0336 Crank Sensor. Thanks for the responses.

Jeff

New to the site here and looking for a couple answers.

I have a 1998.5 3500 4x4 DRW and I woke up this morning and started the truck. It started just fine, idles perfect but when I start to drive, it has little to no power. I can eventually get up to speed, but it takes a while. I have the EZ Edge and my truck has ran perfect for years. I thought it could be a faulty EZ, so I took it off and it still does not have power. I have a good holley lift pump and I have checked the turbo / intercooler connections and they are all tight. There is no smoke coming out of the exhaust. It sounds good, idles perfect and in neutral it will rev up fairly quickly but when I am in drive it is absolutly gutless. If I power brake it, it just gets up to the stall speed and levels off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Jeff

Sounds like you may be next in line for a new Injection pump.

apps may need to be reset or replaced also...
Do you have a FP gauge? A 'good' holley pump means nothing to me.. numbers to.

I've had numerous holley pumps die in relatively short miles...

Is your CEL on? Might be able to get some codes off of the truck depending on what the problem is (using a scanner).

I do not have a scanner. Can I get the codes off of it another way? The CEL has been on for some time now (about a year). What are "apps"

Thanks, Jeff

Go to your local advance auto, they have scanners they will let you borrow for free, I had a similar problem, mine was 037 map sensor, caused the truck to go into "limp mode", sensor was less than 120.00 bucks, 10min to change.

turn your key on and off three times without starting the truck and it will flash your codes to you where your odometer readout is

'98's won't do that. Earliest I have heard of is 2000 models. My cousin has one and he says his will do it.

APPS = Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor. I can be reset and sometimes helps performance. Do a search on this topic, should bring up the procedure. Real simple to do.
