Raptor Install

Getting ready to install a Raptor 150 and looking at the instructions one diagram shows the fuel lines "looped", it looks like the inlet loops around the top of the pump from the tank, and the outlet loops back around the top again towards the fuel filter (Appears pump is mounted with inlet facing front of truck, outlet towards tank). Is this correct, or am I reading it wrong? The only reason I can see is to maybe keep air out of the lines or something?!?! Any help is appreciated.

If you mount the pump on the inside of the frame rail, then the input is toward the front of the vehicle and the outlet is toward the rear. This is why they loop. I put a cutoff valve on mine, in case I ever need to service it in the future.

X2. When installed on the inside of the frame rail, the inlet is toward the front of the truck, outlet to the rear.

This is why we built a custom relocation bracket that fixes this issue. No loops on any of my installs!

Thanks for the reply, how far from the tank should the pump be installed (it may say in the instructions, haven't read all the way through yet.

It depends on bed configuration. With my brackets I place it near the parking brake cable 'T'.

I have a short bed, 4x4 and I put mine as far forward on the inside frame as I could. Not much room in front of the fuel tank, but I did get it in. Probably not an issue with a long bed. I used the supplied brackets.
