Put in gear and Died
LP, IP, voltages both check out fine. New fuel filter, and a fuel pressure test, all good. I just had a new low stall tripple disc TC and VB job done. Pickup had been sitting for a couple of days in cold weather, started it up, let it idle for 10 min or so. Put in in D and it died? It started right up after that and drove, shifted fine! Your thoughts...Is it possible to have to "much" TC for a stock motor? Air Dog and Quadzilla are not on yet!
I have to rev my truck up to 1000rpms and put it in drive or it will die. it did this as soon as i put in my 5 disc ats converter. ats said this is ok. unless the truck runs for 45 minutes then its fine. when it gets warm i hope it dose not to this.
My 2001.5 does the same thing. It started doing this right after I put my Trans in the truck. I talked to the guys at NADP about it and they said that the stall on the converter is a little high. If I let the truck warm up a little longer it will not do it. NADP said it will not hurt anything in the trans or hurt the motor. I have had my trans in for over a year and everything works great yet.

Where did you get your converter and VB from? I would call them personally if it's still stalling the engine, again mine never stalled the engine. Mine would really lug, sounded terrible and puff white smoke like crazy (it was a really cold day so the white smoke could have been condensation) On every other cold start it lugs the engine but it picks back up in seconds maybe 100 RPM lower then park.
Good luck.
Good luck.
mine dose it when it is cold conditions. i just put my new converter in. in november. and it is just now getting into the 40s. below zero it had to run for an hour. and still had to rev it up to 1000rpms
