Possible fuel pump?

I think I might have a fuel pump or fuel injector going.

Truck has 192K miles on it, all stock, no gauges. I was driving on the highway with my plow on, when I heard a very loud Winding and Wooooooooning Sound! I got off the gas for a second and it stopped. I got back on the gas, and I heard that noise again. I then was lighter on the throttle, and eventually a few miles down the road the loud noise went away. What could of that noise been? Could my pump or injector be going? Causing the engine to misfire and make a funny noise? Also I feel a very small vibration sometimes in the throttle. I don't have gauges, but it feels like my boosts and fuel pressure went down.

I've never felt that vibration type or missing thing unless my lp was about gone (once also when my fuel filter should have been changed centuries ago)
I knew it was the fuel filter or lp easy because when I let off the gas I was fine. I had it changed an hour later.
I was probably lucky..also, That excess fuel is needed to cool the VP44.

What Rating Fuel Pump?

I think I just might replace the Fuel Pump before it goes on me and messe's up the Injector pump.. if not it already did. It has 192K miles on it...lol.

The FASS Fuel system.. looks like the best!

I have a H.O. 6-speed w/ 245 HP stock. In a few months, I'll get the Edge Juice w/ Attitude tuner and some Injectors. That would bump me up to 400-420HP.
What Fuel Pump Rating should I go with: 95/95, 95/150, 150/95, or 150/150? Why are there two numbers for each rating?

Hi, I put on a FASS HPFP and have not looked back yet, especially with the 6 year warranty. It was a little expensive, but well worth the money. At -32 Celsius, I get fuel pressure of 14 at idle, 12.5 towing on the highway and 10.5 at WOT towing the trailer. Saturday it "warmed up" to 0 and FP was at 15.5. Money well spent.

Why did everyone assume it is a 24V? Fill out the signature so that we know what we are looking at.
Sounds to me from the description that a boost line got a leak.

Where is the boost line located?

I ordered the FASS lift pump system, it should be in a few days.

Today I drained the stock fuel/water seperator filter. I started my truck for like a minute and the Diesel fuel was just pooring out. Apparently I didn't shut the valve off all the way, it got stuck open. I shut the lever off and now my truck won't start. I re-drained the valve numerous of times to get any air that still might be stuck. I bumped it over and over, but still my truck will not start. Did I damage anything when I had the truck running with the drain valve open? It was only for a minute. Or will it not start, cause there's air probably still in the lines?

Turbo Racer you got air in your line when you opened it with truck on.

Fill Fuel filter with diesel and bump starter a few times for 30 secs.

You may have to crack open injectors if too much air went in. When you see fuel with no air at injectors tighten and bump 1 last time, then it should start rough and smooth out as youhold throttle 20-30 %!
Good Luck!

try bleeding out the system. crack the injector lines open whiel you have a buddy crank it.

this happened to my buddy. couldn't get it started after leaving the fuel drain open. disconnect the batteries and let the computer reset itself. that was his problem.

I tried adding fuel to the filter... didn't work.

Do I crack the injector or the injector line while someone cranks it? One at a time?
Give me a step by step... thanks for the help guys! Tim

Ok...I'll bite. Because it's in the 24 valve section?

Crack two or three of the lines going to the injectors. Doesn't really matter what ones you choose. After opening them up, crank it over and it should fire up shortly after. Close the injector lines once you stop seeing a lot of air bubbles coming out.

I fixed it

Thanks for the help guys... I cracked 1,2, and 4 lines to the injectors. Bumped it. Nothing came out of #4, but 1 and 2 were squirting bubbles like Champagne. Gave it gas, bubbles cleared, re-tightened.
Thanks Shawn, it worked.
