Possible fuel pump problem
Possible fuel pump problem
Hey guys I'm in need of some help. My truck is an 06 with 70k on it. The only mods is a Smarty jr and Pacbrake. I use a Quadzilla for my gauges. It's starts and runs for about a second and dies. I'll let set for a min then it will start right up then dies in about second. It just started to do this with out any other symptoms. I've checked for codes and there isn't any. I changed the fuel filter and no change. The fuel filter housing fill up with fuel as it should. I can hear the pump working. I'm at a loss. Any one have any ideas.
Thx for the TIPM info. I did a search and found a lot of info. Sounds like that thing can a lot of havoc. This morning I decided to try and do a pump test by opening up the drain valve on the canister and bump the ignition. I had a strong flow and got just over a quart of fuel real quick. I tried starting it and it ran just fine. I took it for a road test and got on it hard ,not a hick up.
I don't get it. The only thing I did was the pump test this morning and I had to push it up my drive way last night and now it wants to run just fine. That worries me. I'm supposed to go camping next week but I'm nervous to pull my 30' toy hauler with it. I don't want to get stranded in the middle of the woods.
Can the TIPM cause intermittent problems like this ?

I'm not positive but I think it can be somewhat intermittent.
When you opened the fuel drain to test do you drain it into a clear container? The reason I ask is you may have had some debris or even water that was causing you issues. Kind of a long shot but still a possibility.
