PO216 and PO420
Im sure this gets beat in the dirt alot. Recently my 02 dodge 2500 cummins has felt like it locks into overdrive around 50 on an incline and you have to floor the pedal to get any power. Also starting on high incline the truck would not have any power. I thought that it was transmission related but its not throwing any transmission codes just the po216 and po420. Ive heard that the po216 was either IP or LP. I dont have any pressure gauges but I have fuel pouring out of the drain on the filter while running, does that mean I have LP pressure?
A mechanic told me to reset my APPS and see if that fixes it.
Local dealership wanted to do fluid and filter change first, then the wanted $1300 to replace valve body in tranny and said no codes were present. Well we go pick it up and cycle the key and get those engine codes, which is probably causing what im calling shifting problems (really dead pedal I guess).
Really boosts your confidence level at the local dealership.
