Please help!! Won't start....

I just changed my fuel filter and now the truck will not start. i have done this procedure many times and this is the first problem that I have had. i drained the filter, wiped it out with a clean rag, dropped in the new filter, closed the drain valve, bumped the starter (I heard the lift pump fill the container), started the truck, it ran for about 3 seconds and then died.

i usually fill the filter with fuel or aditive. sounds like an air pocket. try turning key on for LP then crank for 10-15 sec. stop for a 1-2min. do that again 1-2 more times and see if it starts. if not then try cracking the third back from the front injector line and repeat above.....

Crack an injector line that is easy to get to and have someone crack the motor. See if you are getting fuel into the block. Always fill the canister back up after you change the fuel filter. Sound like you got air in the injector lines. The injectors won't open if they have air in them. Once you see fuel coming out of the injector line, put it back on while someone cranks and it will fire. Use a 19mm or 3/4 wrench. It is a messy job, but it will fix the problem if you have to much air in the line.

Do you have fuel pressure? You could try bleeding it at the injector lines..

I keep an old 3/4 wrench in my door panel cubby hole for that reason only. A 19mm fits them better, but a 3/4 is loose enough to allow you to get on the back ones if you have to. (at least in my limited experience).

Glad you got her going. I have trained the wife to crank the truck in those situations.

Sigh of relief??? I have cracked some beers in celebration of this moment as I feared the worse (LP or IP replacement). I just went out of warranty 3 months ago and still have only 49,450 miles on her. By the way what does code "p pcu" mean??
