Over Drive Problems

Hey I Just Baught A Used 2000 Cummins 2500 4x4 with the 24valve Automatic. It Seems To Run At Really High RPM On The HighWay Like 3000 at 75MPH. I Am Wondering If This Is Normal Or If It Is Not Going Into Overdrive. If So What Could Be Wrong. I Read About Potential TPS Problems. Please Let Me Know If This Is Bad! Thanks

I Am Not Sure What Gears. The Stock Gears Are Probably Around 373 Or So. Do You Or Any One Else Seem To Have This Same RPM Rate? It Just Seems Really High And I Am Getting Really Bad Gas Mileage Due To It. After About 45 Miles An Hour It Seems To Stay In The Same Gear, Even At Highway Speed! Let Me Know What I Can Do. Thanks For The Help

353 gears gets me about 2000 rpm at 75. Even with 411s i don't think it would be that high.

Your not going into OD at those RPM's. Check the glovebox sticker for the gear ratio. 45-50 is right about where it should be kicking up into OD.
