G-note, mines the same, just a hair below 40 at idle when hot. The truck has 39,000 miles on it and thats the way it's always been. When driving it's between 40 and high pressure mark.

The oil pressure sensor was redesigned for the 02 model to give more varied readings...trying to better indicate pressures under different conditions. Remember, this gauge is not a direct reading of oil pressure...it's an electronic sensors translation.
The 01 sensor, IMO, is best viewed as a yes, I have pressure or no I don't gauge. Good news is...this system has not caused any problems I know of on the CTD.
Note: the 02 sensor will not fit the 01 trucks.

At least the yes/no is an improvement over the infamous oil pressure reflash! After that flash, it's just yes/yes-- regardless of what it really happening.

You gotta wonder about some of the guys making decisions at DC.
