? on oil pressure

? on oil pressure

the oil pressure in in the 98 2500 i bought this weekend is about 80 psi while driving at 70 mph. is that normal? let me know what you think. thanks

Sounds fairly normal to me. He could have also just recently changed oil and oil filter...this raises Oil Pressure for a little while.

Seems normal to me. My 01 will idle (warm) at 40 PSI oil pressure, and the pressure will move between that and 80 PSI depending on engine speed.

Put a pressure gauge on the port at top of filter housing. 80 PSI indicated does seem high for pres on fully warmed up engine running at 2000 RPM or so. Is temp in normal range?

the coolant temp from what i can tell is normal.the oil was changed recently. where is the iat located at on this truck?

The faster the engine turns, the more oil pressure it needs.

The IAT is on the left side of the head almost to the back.
