Oil Pan
Anyone taken their oil pan off?

It seems I have a small leak coming from the rear of the oil pan and I was thinking of dropping it and replacing the gasket, I might even try and snug up the bolts a tad. (just thought of that one) I wasn't sure if I would have a problem getting the pan off around the front axle or if it would slide off without having to jack up the frame to get more clearance form the axle.

The truck is still covered under the 100,000 mile waranty but I'm not sure if that a leaky oil pan is covered on that part of the waranty. :

Thanks

DB

Re:Oil Pan
Not positive but I think there is a tsb on oil pan leaks. You might check Fritzs website in the tsb section. Might be under warranty. I know removing the oil pan is a pita don't know about dropping it enough to replace the gasket though.

Re:Oil Pan
Pretty sure it's not the rear main. about mid way up the driver's side of the oil pan is real wet and it's dripping onto the front drivesahft. It's not that big of a deal, I don't notice any lose of oil but it just kinda bugs me. [undecided] I've been around all sorts of diesels and have never known one not to leak I just thought if the oil pan came off easilly I would try and replace the gasket, but if it's to involved I'm not going to screw with it and dang sure ain't going to let the dealer play around with it either.

DB
