Napa and CarQuest oil filters are WIX's. I'm not sure you can even get a filter anymore that says "WIX" on, I'm propably wrong but its been a while since I've seen one. I only use BALDWIN filters in my beast.
They use WIX filters up at my buddies shop on all the heavy machinery... I know at least the box says Wix...

I second the Baldwins... that's all I ever use in my truck... Oil, Fuel & Tranny...

Thanks for all the input, but nobody answered the question... Kinda figured this would happen though, sorry for starting another filter war. Just wanted to know whether I shoud run the Mobil 1 filter for the duration of this service interval, or if I should just get it out of there in exchange for the Stratapore when i get it this week. Kind of a waste of $11, but cheaper than repairs if anyone has heard of the Mobil 1 filters breaking down and damaging the engine. Thanks guys-

I would leave it in there... just 'cause it's not the "almighty fleetguard" don't mean it's garbage!

well you should just call the manufacturer and find out if it has neoprene in it.

Thats what I would do. I would guess the mobile 1 would be pretty good compared to the other junk on the market.

Toothmech, A less costly place to get Fleetguard is Marc productions in Columbus. It is the only place to buy Fleetguard in the town that builds the Cummins. The place used to be Winters and is located behind the Chevy dealer in the back of the industrial park.

I can't answer the question for you other than I'd stick to the auhtorized filters if you're under any type of warranty.

If you're ever in a pinch again...the Purolator filter IS a Stratapore (not cheap though).
