well my auto's goin out, 1st gear is/feels like it wont engage............ anyhoo, ive been wantin to switch to a nv4500. got one for 2300 with tax that includes everything to do the swap except the transfer case. i did some searches on here for swap tips and couldnt find anything that said anything about switchin out the input shaft on the transfer case. i currently have the auto, so also do i need a shorter drive shaft, and will the transfer case bolt up to the new trans, or do i need to get a different shaft for the transfer case. IIRC, the auto transfer case has a 23 spline and the manual has 29 spline i think. any help is a ppreciated

manuals had an NP 241 DHD case w/29 spline and the autos had a NP 241 DLD case...I would think you'd need to swap t cases fully...you could use a 29 spline in the DLD case but it probably wouldn't last and you'd have to swap to a DHD down the road if it breaks...

I'm thinking about doing this same swap so I'm doing some reading around to see what's required as well...
