You'll have to move the cross member back, shorten rear driveline, lengthen front driveline, change the clutch and flywheel, and get an adapter to lengthen T-Case actuators.
I got everything including the tranny and South Bend Clutch with instructions, for $4400 from Blumenthals Mfg.
You'll need a strong tranny jack. You'll also have to lift the truck up about a foot just to get the tranny under the truck. The NV5600 is a monster compared to the puny NV4500.
Good luck...............Jim

How will the parts availability be for the NV 5600 in a few years compared to the 4500? I've been reading that there was not as many 5600's produced, just something to consider.

if you have a 98 you WILL NOT HAVE TO MOVE CROSSMEMBER. the 98's already have all the provisions for the 6spd, longer wiring and the holes already are int he crossmember.
Lengthen the front driveline 5.5" shorten the rear 5.5"
your t-case will bolt right up to the 6spd. take your flywheel out have it redrilled to take a 6spd clutch or just do an exchange with SB clutch. The 98 model trucks require minimal modifications.
You will need:
The Clutch and flywheel combo from SBC
Have your drivelines modified
Lengthen the 4x4 shift rail.
I got my 6spd in my last truck for $900 off ebay clutch kit was 900 and had my flywheel drilled for 40, i bought the rod for between the t-case and shifter from mopar for $38. Drivelines were done for 250.
Sold my 5 spd for 800 on pirate board . $2100-$2200 was the price tag after the sale i was in it a hair under 1400. that included adding a hp clutch.
If you have a 94-97 then the cost goes up because you need a different crossmember and should mount the 4x4 shifter to the floor board vs the early style that is attached to the tranny but a 98 is setup for the 6spd already the holes are already in the crossmember for the 6spd, and the cross member does not move. also you can use the 5spd rubber tranny mount it bolts right onto the 6spd they are the same.
my most recent one i swapped in both the 241hd and the 6spd my original combo 5spd came with a 241ld go figure.
