i'm not completely against the 4500 i'm just looking done the road at parts availbility and durability i know syncros are wear items, just like a clutch, taken care of, they can last a very long time, i.e. my old farm mule, its an old chrysler or dodge pickup with the chrysler slant 6. it had 200k before the clutch had to be done and the trans rebuilt. i'm thinking about getting the full rebuild kit from the website someone gave. but i do want a taller OD if i have to i'll find out what gears are in the back and change them to 3.54 if they arent. where i live i do alot of highway or roads where i travel at about 65 mph
on a side not this post may have to be "stickyed" it holds alot of good info in my opinion

Top gear in the 6 speed and 5 speed are pratically the same. You won't be able to tell the difference. They just stuffed another gear in between 3-4, for the guys like "H in D" that pulls big loads all the time.

I'm switching from a 6 speed to an auto in my truck. 5600 has 64k miles on it. I have only towed a few times and then was only around 7-8K. I'd like to sell the 5600 and the clutch and flywheel. Clutch is a SB FE with a ball bearing pilot in the flywheel, 9k miles on the clutch. Tranny shifts smooth as silk.
