nv4500 3rd gear problems

nv4500 3rd gear problems
ok about a year and a half ago 3rd gear in my tranny goes ..........got so you couldn't put it in 3rd no matter what
local wrecking yard has a rebuilt for 1800 so I buys it, well now I'm having 3rd gear trouble again I have to put the clutch in and wait a few seconds before I put it in third or it will grind
any idea's
