newbie please go easy on me

Post newbie please go easy on me

hi everyone i myself do not own a diesel myself but my friend does and he doesnt have the ability to get to a computer so im asking for him.he has a 1998 ram 2500 with a 24v cummins auto.ive been looking around for a blow off valve or diverter valve and i cant find one.if you can even use one on diesel's???thats pretty much my question do they make them?where can i find one?is there anything he can do to get the sound of one if they dont??i myself do have a turbo car thou (vw-gti) lol.i have a diverter valve on that and im only pushing about 10 pounds which im sure you guys laugh at..o well thank you very much for any help and please go easy i dont know a thing about diesels except they have crazy high compression,no spark plugs,and thats about it.

This diesel fanatic

Rather enjoys the whine of the turbos as they spin up,blowing air into the engine.We spend alot of blood sweat and tears figureing ways to get more air into the engine It would be painful to hear all that air blowing out.Merv

BD Power does have a blow off valve (B.O.V) They are primarally are for modified engines running high boost levels to prevent turbo bark (the turbo spins backwards if you quickly take your foot off the go pedal and can snap the turbo shaft). It can ruin a turbo. If his is stock, you don't need one. The turbo is already equipped with a wastegate to protect the turbo from overspeed/overboost, and the boost level is low enough that barking isn't much of an issue.
