Also I have never changed the fuel filter myself the dealer has done it. Is there any tricks to doing it or a walk through?
Thanks

Look here for instructions:
98.5 - 99 Fuel Filter Change

Check your local Cummins dealer for a HUGE savings over the dealer's $47 price on the filter.
Cummins Service/Parts Locator

Or check genosgarage.com for mail-order savings.

Easy to do. Go to you local Cummins dealer (could be Cummins Southern Plains in Amarillo) and pick up the filter...get the Stratopore.

I would go with fleetfilter.com (as mentioned) or Geno's Garage, they should both be around $14.00.

Well guys, your Dodge dealer might be a option.
the msrp on a 5015581AC is 21.25.
I would trust Dodge before Autozone.

Just purchased mine at Carquest and replaced it yesterday. I paid about 20 bucks for the filter. They provide a set of instuctions how to change it yourself also.

I get them at the Cummins shop here for under $10
Tip: Open the pitcock on the filter housing and drain it before pulling the bottom off. I know it seems like something that should go without saying but I have seen a couple guys pull it without draining it and wind up with fuel splashed all over the place.
