to see the codes pop up when you cycle the key do you have to let the grid heaters cycle through each time or can you just cycle the key back and fourth quickly. Also does the 99 yr model have this feature i am going to look at one monday.

 

99's will NOT display codes with the key "trick".

You just cycle quickly, stopping in the on (not start, on) position. The codes will display, followed by "P-Done".

Yes, p-done is a good thing. But I just had a problem w/ my truck and no codes came up. So, not everything will come w/ a code.

 

This is true. Some people get nothing displaying, but have definite failures. My old truck always talked nice to me, never hid things from me.
