my buddys 24 valve is ideling high cant figer out why .i was wondering if any buddy new or had this happen.

 

What does he have and what is "high"?....

 

The idle spec is 800+.

 

could it be the high idle feature? what the temp outside? the high idle should disable when you start to move or step on the brake pedal. If its aways idled high not just when its cold ck the simple stuff first such as floor mat against the pedal etc. i work in a *********** and you wouldnt believe how often we see this on cars and trucks in the winter.

 

ya i checked all that. and its ideling about 950 all the time .

 

My truck would idle normal, then a little higher, then even higher, upwards around 1200 rpm. This was when the weather was warm and working the throttle did not fix it. I ended replacing the TPS and all is good.

ok all try that but i dosnt go up or down at idel just stays at 950 and revs fine and every thing just the revs wont drop below 950

 

Can you check for codes on this truck? If you can what are they? Could get you on the right path...

 

no nothing shows up couldend see any codes

 

you may need to replace the APPS, but do the voltage check first. make sure the APPS is matched to the spec. search APPS and you'll find the detailed directions.
