Missing and 15 mpg on the highway
Truck misses @ idel no loss of power in top end but fuel milege went slowly down from 19mpg to about 15.5mpg any ideas

What's your fuel pressure, if you know?

It could be the VP getting tired.

I'd also suggest a fuel filter change as our first step- then if things aren't well, maybe the pump is bad...

It probably misses off idle also but you cant tell. Could be the VP getting tired, giving low injection pressure, improper timing advance etc. Might also be an injector. Got smoke? how many miles?

Has a little black smoke at low boost pressure 165,000 miles. This is its 2nd VP Have about 12 psi @ idel, 9psi @ 65mph and 7-8 @ WOT
