tranny rear bearing oil hole

I copied this from a thread on RV.net that was linked in our RV & Towing section.
Any idea what this guy is talking about? Is this on the NV5600's, 4500's, or auto's? Never heard of this before...

Dougger: tell your buddy to find a new repair shop or hire a good mechanic, if he would have they would have opened up the rear bearing oil hole using a 1/8 drill. 90% of all Dodge manual tranny failures are do to the rear bearing not getting enough oil. If you change the oil in your trans you don’t need to open it up, if you don’t it will plug and a bearing failure will happen. Of course this happens after the truck is out of warranty lucky for Chrysler. The other thing is when you have some one else driving your vehicles they tend to be a little rougher on them then if they were paying for the truck.
