Whats inside the exhaust resonator on a '99?

Any pictures of one cut open ?

 

You could see right through it. It like a flow free flow muffler inside. It has little holes in the sides but not lifted up and angled like a free flow muffler to grab air flow. It really does some quieting I think under low to no load. At WOT it flows right through!

 

I have used 1 as a muff. on a first gen. works real good just a pipe with holes

my exhaust brok off right after the resonator on my 02. sounds sweet. can really heard the turbo spool. its pretty much flow through.

although does get annoying after a few days.
