MBC Problems?

I've been running around with my wastegate completely blocked off for a couple of weeks now. I was getting spikes of 35+psi (my guage only goes to 35, so I don't know exactly how high it was going) so I decided I needed to limit my boost a back down to around 30psi... especially because I have an Edge Comp on the way.

So I bought the Joe P MBC and installed it. I adjusted it all the way in and all the way out and the boost doesn't seem to change. It acts like it did when I had the wastegate completely blocked. 35+ psi, that is.

So I went back and hooked up the wastegate again like stock configuration and it works. I could spike it to no more than 25ish psi.

Reinstalled the MBC thinking that maybe I overlooked something, but I don't think I did because it still works the way it did the first time I installed it.

The MBC is working because I can blow in the "pressure in" end and tighten the screw and it will eventually not let any air pass through.

So I'm lost here. Am I missing something?

If you are getting ANY air through the actuator you will eventually open the wastegate to the factory setting. There has to be a bleed somewhere between the valve and the actuator so you can keep the pressure on that side low.

I'm a little confused. Wouldn't bleeding off the excess pressure cause the wastegate not to open at all?

Your wastegate is only hooked to the back 3 cylinders.. the manifold is split inside.. the gate is not hooked to the front 3... do a search for wastegate mods.. or housing mods.. there are instuction on how to drill out the exhaust housing...
