My wife posted for me while I was on the road ( without 5th gear )
Thanks for your help on mainshaft upgrade sources / info !

I am searching out all of my options and thought of one more but dont know if it will work / be cost effective .

What if I found a late model 6 speed trans ? Would it ALL bolt right up with no drive shaft length problems or any other $$ mods ? A quick easy swap ?
(not that pulling this trans is an easy job)

Would you all recommend the 6 speed over the NV4500HD ?
Would this be a 'cheaper' way to properly fix my problem?

Any advice out there ? Again , I'm just considering all of my options .

once you fix the 5th gear nut problem i would think that would be cheaper than switching to the nv5600

That is true - only economically feasable reason to upgrade would be if you do a lot of heavy towing - or, if you're a showoff, like me...........
