Yea thats a good question. I see this raptor on ebay JW. Is this the one your talking about? http://http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AME WA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120222487737&rd=1

I got the airtex replacement. I think its already beginning to fail. When I mash it, it will drop to 3 or 4psi, when it was 10psi wot when I started with it.
There is a small fuel leak in the washer where the banjo bolt leaves the pump, so that may be affecting it. Hard to believe how hard that little washer is to find. Any suggestions? Checked Ace, federated auto etc. The pump has only been in for 3 weeks so I think that the leak willl def affect the pressure, but I am still green.

Me and JW thank yall for the info.

That raptor seems cheap. Is it hard to install and is it any good?

I want something reliable without spending a ton, plus I am not doing anymore power upgrades other than the juice.

Yeah, just take it back! Thats what I did with my carter, it was 6 weeks old and dropped psi big time. They asked me to replace my filter first, I did, then they gave me a new one, happened to be a airtex. The tag on it said it was someimproved version of it. It didn't fit very well, bent the *&#@ out of the supply line from the tank, had to replace the cheap a#ss plastic line with a good rubber one! Now it's got tons of psi, but it's only been 24 hours and 30 miles

The airtex was 165, well the carter was 165 and had a one year warranty, when it died in 6 weeks they gave me a airtex instead. I like buying locally because if it dies every 9 months I just take it back for free. Heck, I've got it down to a 10 minute change, 15 if I do a filter too!

Suggustion if you do the airtex - get 3' of good rubber fuel line and attach it to the feed of the pump and remove the cheap crappy plastic fuel line dodge put on it. It's metal line less than 3 feet away from the pump. The new airtex puts the inlet in a different spot and that old plastic line just wasn't up to bending that far w/o kinking ;(

Good luck & I will keep y'all posted on the psi, but it seems rock solid and consistant, something the carters never did for me.

Can you frame mount the Airtex pumps?

The fuel line is 3/8 and 3' is plenty, I had a foot left over. Don't forget 4 hose clamps to double clamp it. It's a real tight fit getting the hose on the airtex, so lube it with some diesel and put the hose on the lp before you mount the lp. This eliminated the quick disconnect, and I think that's a good thing.

I'm sure you can frame mount the Airtex, but it has a flow-thru design, so I don't see a advantage to it. It has a one way check valve, so if it does fry, the vp can at least pull from the tank w/o resistance.

Thanks for the input. Reason being is i have a holley blue and seems like AIRTEX is doing something write with these pumps. I would like to replace my holley eventually with something more dependable.
