Lift pump relocation.

Hello all. First post to this group. I’ve got a 2001 Dodge 2500. I’m going to be buying an air dog 100 lift pump and have some piece of mind. However I discovered yesterday my lift pump is in the tank. And was wanting to know if anyone have done this relocation and what all I would need. I’d like to mount it on the original engine mount under the fuel filter canister. Are relocation kits for this available? What would I have to do?

Welcome to DTR.
My personally experience with Air Dog was bad enough on my '01 I would not install one on my own truck if it was given to me.
I changed out 4 or 5 electric pumps in the same amount of years. The blue fuel line also dry cracked in just a few years.

Why do you want to change out the in-tank pump?

I swapped over because I couldn't maintain enough fuel pressure on my truck after I installed my Edge programmer.

Eventually I’d like to buy a programmer for it, but I also just want piece of mind. I figured it would be simple enough but I don’t know how to convert an in tank pump back to factory mount or frame mount

I just installed a draw straw in the fuel tank. Bolted the pump and filters to the frame and ran fuel lines.

What about electrical connections for the new pump? Will the old connections off the in tank pump go to it or do I need to run new wires?

I would just reroute the wire going to the pump in the tank to your new location if you really are going to relocate it. just follow the wire back until you have enough slack to reroute. I personally think frame mount is the way to go because access to it is easier. I've heard vibration from being mounted to the motor causes them to fail faster. (not sure about that)
