You will want to do more than just move the lift pump to the frame. The Vulcan Performance kit relocates the lp to the frame, increases the fuel line size (to 1/2") and eliminates all the restrictive banjo bolts.

you know I think there are mixed results about moving the pump, as for the increase presure and the pump working better at pumping fuel YES it wroks great, but as was said before buy the whole kit and go with the 1/2 line all the way. here in MN I had a problem with cold weather taking a pump out. if you put the pum down there and you live in a cold climate put some type of shield over it to keep the road slush from hitting it and freezing it. just my 2 cents. But I would still sugest the pump relocation.

I moved mine after three low out put LP's. So far so good but I really don't think it is a final solution to LP problems. I imagine a Glacier will be my next move.

I moved mine when I first got the truck, but now, 6 months later, I put a FASS on it. Worked great though.

I installed the Vulcan big line kit from Gino's and I installed a new carter lift pump at the same time. In order to get to the stock lift pump off you must move the fuel filter. Two bolts but the instructions do not mention this. I want to see the man that can move the pump without moving the fuel filter. He must be spiderman. Took me half a day to remove the old pump it was rusted in place. Now with it mounted on the frame rail it is a 15 minute job.

Not sure how much a '99 varies from an '01, but I didn't remove the fuel filter. I mounted the pump down on the frame rail, made a cover for it, installed the big line kit (which removed/replaced the banjo fittings). Took probably 3 hrs. total.

Maybe there is a difference between years. I didn't actually remove the pump just took out 2 bolts and let it drop down out of the way. Does the Fass bolt in just like the stock pump to the Vulcan Bracket?

I had the exact same problem. I ended up putting teflon tape on to stop the slight leak. I will put the fuel pressure gauge on when it arrives next week. I was careful to make sure none of the tape would go into the infamous VP44 injection pump. The Vulcan Big line is great what lift pump did you use?
