which lift pump to get?

Ok, if you saw my thread last weekend you know my lift pump quit and supposedly burned up my injector pump. I want to know what is the best lift pump to get... with best warantee. Dodge doesn't sell the stock one for my 01 anymore, the sales guy says they now have a conversion kit for putting it in the fuel tank.$380. I read about the fass and fassII pumps being good. As I said in last post I can't spend much time online unless it is the weekend. I probably need a new vp44 too. Dealer says it is burned up. Is there an upgraded pump, how much, and where? I saw a post of one out of Texas Cumminsstuff.com for under $1000. I would like more power than stock, is a different injector pump going to increase performance? Is now the time to upgrade and increase performance? I can look at answers to my thread from work during the week on my cellphone but cannot post while on my phone...no keyboard. But answers are greatly appreciated, I need to get the rig back on the road!

Im as they come, when it comes to dodge diesel. Just bought a 01 dually with 58000 on it, and the pump quit. I think if you have less than a 100000 on it , it might be a warrenty deal. Worth checking into. Mine is getting a new lift pump and injector pump . and no cost.

Intank lift pump

ok wanted to update you all. Found a dealer that would take care of me under warranty ,even though I was just out of warranty. But, they put the new lift pump that goes in the tank in and I don't think it is good enough. I bought one of those low-fuel pressure lights that come on if the fuel pressure drops below 5 lbs. and it comes on a lot, even when truck is empty. So called manufacter of the low-pressure light and they sent me another one, it does the same thing. Took the truck back to dealer and they did a pressure test....11 lbs. before and after the fuel filter at idle, and 9 lbs. of pressure at 2500 rpms. But I come to find these tests were done in park with no load on the engine. My light wont come on at idle nor at 2500rpms either...but getting to 2500rpms it does. And driving down the road it comes on at less than half throttle. Note: truck is stock...no power upgrades besides k & n filter in stock box. Dealer says it is ok, but all reserch and supplier of low-fuel pressure light kit say different!

I just got the peice-of-junk in-tank fuel pump retrofit kit installed on my truck as well, at idle i have 5-6 psi of pressure at WOT i have less than 3 psi....i have 66k on my truck...i should have just replaced the LP instead of getting it fixed under warranty. The in-tank pump sucks. People told me this...but i got it anyway. Sorry about your luck, guess your in the same boat as me. If i could do it over i would just have eaten the cost of a new pump.

I've been reading and reading about this as my LP is going out but still under warrantee. The new in tank pump doesn't give as much pressure but gives more volume, what's better, pressure or volume? Pusher or puller pump?

Low pressure indicator light

OK here is the real stuff regarding the Low fuel pressure swicht/light from Blue Chip. I purchased 3 at the same time, one for me and one each for a couple of my buddies.
I'm an instrument mechanic by trade so I tested each pressure switch on the bench prior to installation. The advertised setting is 5 psi but every one of the 3 I tested were set at 7 psi. I recalibrated them to 4.5 psi prior to installation.

Go with a stock LP, Cummins sells them for around $140, then add a Vulcan relocation kit with the big lines and you'll be happy. I see he's got the stainless fittings now, must be nice!
