lift pump ???

I have a 2001 dodge 24 valve that is having a hard time starting it just started today and has never had this prob. before
When I try to start it it will crank and if I stop the lift pump continues to run for about 1.5 mins then it will start right up.
Does any one have any thoughts on what it could be
I am thinking a weak lift pump as I am loseing preasure
By the way I changed the fuel filter after this started today

Probley the LP, and could be the ball check valve on the return line on the IP letting it loose prime.

You should install a fuel pressure gauge in the cabin to see if the LP is working. In the meantime, you can check the fuel pressure using a gauge that attaches to the schrader valve on the injection pump.

It's on the return line on the IP, just take it off and see if you can blow though it. It's the banjo bolt on the return.
