Hey everyone,
As my name states I have a 2000 2500 CTD. It's got a AFE intake, Super Chip, 4" exhaust w/a 4" muffler. It's an automatic w/3.55 gears. I've been doing a lot of reading and have learned tons more on this site than I have from my Dodge dealer. Between my dad and I we own 4 Dodge Cummins Diesel trucks :
1992 Power Ram 250 LE 4x4, automatic, 235,000 miles, work truck
1994 Ram 3500 dually SLT, 5 spd., 420,000 miles (yes, 420,000 ) work truck
2000 Ram 2500 SLT Quad Cab, Short box, 4x4, 163,000 miles, my truck
2006 Ram 2500 SLT Mega Cab, Short box, 4x4, 1,000 miles, dad's truck
I've read a lot about these "53" blocks. I just checked mine today and mine is stamped "55". Is that good? I never knew they used poor blocks in these trucks, that's one thing I learned here. Also, I see lift pumps are a major issue. My 2000 with 163,000 miles is running on the original. I bought it from the original owner and he said he never replaced it and I haven't so it has to be the original. I have read a lot about these "Holley" lift pumps and "Vulcan" big line kits, should I use these on my 2000? Any help is appreciated.

A couple of months a go I purchased an edge juice with attitude and about 2 weeks a go my vp44 went out on. From what I've read fuel pressure has a big influence on the VP44 so I bought a FASS 95 gph pump to put on mine, now my fuel pressure is at 20psi at idle. If I were you I would definetly fet a fuel pressure gage.

Big Line Kits will keep Fuel pressure higher if you add hp, and DO help prolong life of lift pumps. Will take you to around 350 hp without needing fuel pump upgrade.
