How do I Tell

How do I tell for certain if i have the stock lift pump or the intake pump.

intake pump?????? i think in tank pump is what you mean.... at any rate the stock pump is to the rear and below the filter. bump your starter, stick your head under the hood and listen, you should hear it ........if you don't, you might have the in tank pump

And if you don't hear it listen near the tank, it's a light buzz but it's audible.

Finally, as it happened to me today if you don't hear anything try tapping the pump under the hood with a hammer, it might resuscitate it

Trace back the fuel lines from the VP. somewhere in the line you "SHOULD" find a filter and a pump no matter what mods any previous owner might have done.
My stock pump on a 99 was mounted to the block drivers side all the way back about half way from the bottom.
If you don't find a pump before the tank you most probably have an in tank unit.
If you can't hear any buzz/hum when you bump the starter you either have a bad pump or no pump...either way your gonna need a new one.
