How to do a code check on a 99'
Stupid question with what I think is an easy answer: What is the procedure for doing a code check on my 99 24v? I have looked all over with no luck and a simple answer. Also, does anyone know a page with all of the codes listed? Thanks from a green diesel man.
Code checker - $39 ? at Harbor Freight. Also some at various parts houses. Plug it into the socket under the dash near the throttle/steering col.
The code info comes with the checker or do a search here. All listed will be with the checker or may be on a cd that comes with it.
It will erase them also. If you don't get a good read the first time try again. If reset and still a problem the code will appear again.

Turn the key on, but don't start it, turn if off, turn it on but don't start, turn it off, turn it on but don't start and leave it on. The coded will be displayed in the odometer window. Some will clear by themselves after a certain number of cycles. Do a google on dodge dtc for codes, or list them here and we'll check them against our manuals....
