Homemade fuel pressure gauge

Would it be possible to make your own fuel pressure gauge? Just for testing, not permanent, kinda like the BriarHopper one. Don't get me wrong, the Hopper gauge looks nice, but I like that since of self accomplishment of doing it yourself or at least having to spend double to repair it after you "did it yourself".

The gauge could be any type of pressure gauge right. Wouldn't one for water, oil, or air, like the sell at Sears, work just fine? Then all you need is to hook it up to some refrigerant line and you should be good to go. Any ideas?

Should work. You could even put a shraeder valve in line to randomly check fuel pressure with a tire gauge. Although risking a shower with #2 diesel.

More Info...

Napa sells on from BalKamp . Part # 7001886 - price $42.49.
The gauge seems to be a typical PSI gauge, I am still looking for the line to connect to the schrader valve. Gauge price by itself is $10. The BalKamp model has some sort of drain valve, I assume to drain the diesel back down the line from the gauge.

Still looking.....

Re:Homemade fuel pressure gauge

Buy a 5 dollar gauge, a fitting for it, clear tubing and the shraeder fitting. I built one for I think 20 bucks or less. I went with clear tubing cause I wanted to see if the fuel actually went into the gauge. It doesn't. Then just clip it to your wiper and go for a ride. Pretty simple really ;D
