Holley HP 150 Gerotor Fuel Pump

Check this pump out... http://www.holley.com/12-150.asp

I know most people don't suggest the Holley pump as a replacement for the stock lift pump. I noticed this one is a gerotor fuel pump like the raptor and others, but it doesn't say anywhere its ok for diesel.

Has anyone tried this pump out?

Would you suggest it?

I am sure it will be fine. I have been running an Aeromotive 1000 for 5-6 years and it has been fine with the diesel fuel.
Actually I am looking at that pump--the holley-- for my street car.

Many of the streetrod guys that I cruise with have this pump. Very quiet running. I would think it is ok with diesel fuel but I haven't asked Holley.

I talked with Holley a while back regarding their fuel pressure regulator and the gerotor pump, and they said none of their products are rated for diesel.

A lot of guys used the Holley Black pump over the years, most of them ended up having to replace them because they would not hold up.

i would think diesel fuel would lubricate the pump more than gasoline

In my opinion the Holley pumps are short of what we are looking for in a reliable DIESEL lift pump. I went through a few on mine. Switching over to Air Dog now.

I wonder if using a seal kit for alcohol rating would be better for diesel? I know many pumps like the holley and similar have an alcohol conversion kit which uses different material seals, might be worth a try.

Lots of people including myself running the Holley Blue for many years! Clean fuel and adequate wiring to the lift pump will ensure a long life for any pump.

I would agree if you added vane style pump to it. The gear rotor should be much better.

I have that exact pump on my truck. Its been running for a few years now and no issues (knock on wood)..I didnt use the regulator that came with it, I just run without. 17psi is what my gauge always says. For a gear pump it is quiet-but if i listen with the window down ya can hear it some. I recomend it
