P0237,

My truck had been throwing a CEL on and off. Code reader pulled PO237 "turbocharger/supercharger boost sensor A circuit low" but there weren't any dead-pedal symptoms....for a long time.

I noticed it was hesitating picking up in first gear a bit, but then would pick up and be fine in higher gears. Since I don't use the truck often, I put it to the back of my mind.

Then I used it to haul a load of hay, and that was the day things degraded to true "dead pedal." Plus the CEL stayed on.

From past posts I knew the map sensor was supposed to be to blame so I ordered one from Geno's. When I unplugged the wiring harness, I found liquid in the harness so of course thought that was what was causing the problem. I suspect this is diesel fuel but don't see that the engine compartment is wet. I need to determine where this came from.

Aside from that, the sensor is of course in a tough position to get to. Any particular tool to use, or do I just wrestle with my adjustable wrench to try to get it out?

Any recommendations on how to move forward with this most easily would be appreciated!

I should qualify the "dead pedal" description since I've read that it means different things....in my situation, there just wasn't a response when hitting the accelerator, but eventually the truck would pick up speed and shift to the next gear. Especially no power going up grades. Just no torque whatsoever, but able to slowly accelerate and get up to 60, maybe 65 tops with the load.

i use a deep socket, i think the size is 7/8" or 1" could even be 13/16"
i think auto zone has a special socket for the sensors
