P0237 once in a while

Every month or so when starting the truck I get a P0237 code, low boost voltage. I have the EZ and it has a boost fooler as part of it. I can reset the code and it will not show up again for weeks. Truck runs great, no problems.

What do you think guys, is it the EZ showing too low a value. My conception of the EZ was that it sets a value for the boost that will not bring a code for too high a voltage due to overboost.

I might add that this always shows up on startup not when running.

I would also like to know the answer as mine has done this a couple times in the past. Before the last time it did it which was just last week it did it when my vp crapped out.

And on a bit of a different note my transmission temp light came on twice last week at startup and stayed on for 150 miles or less maybe 10 start cycles. I know it wasn't overheated as it was only 15 degrees outside and it had been sitting all night. Does anybody know if the trans idiot light comes on for any other reason besides high temp? If it is just high temp then maybe the circuiit got wet/loose connection I had been in some mud and very wet gravelly roads the previous night.

Bizzare, I have the opposite problem.

Mine is throwing a code saying I am making like 37 psi on my stock truck

Does the EZ always show the ECM a set value, or does it base it's value on what it is seeing from the MAP sensor?

I.E. 0 boost, EZ passes 0.
15psi boost, EZ passes 15 psi.
30psi boost, EZ passes 15 psi.

If the MAP sensor is sending low to the EZ, the EZ may not be sending anything, or low signal to the ECM.

Just speculation, as I have no idea how the EZ's boost fooler works.

I would think though that you need a fully functional MAP sensor for the EZ to work properly.

First chance I get I will change the MAP, but on my truck it is a mess to get to with the power steering tank mounted there, hard to get my hand back there. Now if it was stock I would have changed it already.

Changed mine tonight, like 5 minutes or less. Stock truck though. It is still a bit of a reach but no big deal.

Somebody had stated on here earlier that it fits an 1 1/8" socket.

You actually need 1 1/4" deep

Tool I have the socket, you get these thing when you start playing musical engine. I have a hunch that mine is a different thing though. I have an air compressor input from the air box (stock isb275) and it generally runs a few minutes or seconds when first started. I bet that if it is running and I start to leave with the engine, there is just not enough boost to register till it shuts off. Once all systems are going it is fine. I wonder if the Cummins ecm has a delay to prevent that, could be. I am running he Dodge ECM. I will change it soon though to rule out the sensor.

It's my understanding that the EZ passes the actual boost number to the ECM unless it's over 19psi. Over 19psi it's clipped so it only provides the voltage corresponding to 19psi. This is because the ECM must know how much fuel to flow based partially on the level of boost.
