High Idle Speed

After drives of 30+ miles at 60+mph my idle speed jumps to 1000 - 1100. Is this normal or ok if not what is my problem. Thanks.

Year and number of valves in the engine would help immensely.

Since you posted in the 24 valve section, assuming you have a 24 valve electronically controlled engine.

Only when it's cold out and you use cruise control? Wondering, because mine does it too.

Brother,

Fill in your sig so everyone will know what you drive. Geez, I thought I had him trained better than that!

Don't even get me started on your problems!

How many drinks are in you when this happens? Are YOU sure your foot is not on the acc. pedal .

He has an 01 3/4 ton 6 speed.
