My truck is shifting funny, it shifts fron 1-2 at the correct time, but then shifts into 3rd way too early, it needs to stay in 2nd a lot longer before it shifts, Wondering what I need to change in the valve body to correct this. I have messed with the tv cable, and apps reset, checked apps voltage, nothing, I need to change something in the vb, I have had them apart, so I know what i will be doing, just dont know what I need to modify. Please let me knoe and thanks

I have also changed throttle valve springs with no result.

Woops, my bad, until then, its a 99, 4x4, auto, 47re, goerend converter, suncoast overhaul. edge comp.

 

hmmmm, I'd say the TV cable is outa adjustment.

 

Its not the throttle valve cable, I have played with that non stop and can not get results, its to the point where if I tighten it anymore, the throttle will only open to about 90% cause the tv cable tightens up.

Ok, I know where the 2-3 shift valve and spring is, what would I need to change with that valve?

There has to be a way to alter shift timing from inside the valve body.

 

A stiffer spring delays the shift to higher speed.
