Question Help With NV4500

Ok i have a howling sound coming from the trans (NV4500). It only does it when you are in all gears driving. It dosent do it when you are coasting in neutral and when you push the clutch in while moving in gear. The fluid level is up but is starting to get darker. Im not sure exactly what is making this noise but i would guess it is a bearing starting to go. If anyone could help me with this that would be great.

Thanks Devin

sounds like a bearing to me, hard to tell which cluster it's on or whether it may be on the input/output shafts & such until it's torn down, the 4500's are a fairly simple tranny to tear down & there are usually rebuild kits on ebay fairly cheap, good luck, Dusty

There is a guy around that sells a great kit with all the tools and a video to rebuild the 4500! I know if you look under 5th gear nut you should be able to find him. I just don't remember what his website is. Very good guy though and he answered alot of my questions
