My buddy installed a new lp , fuel filter and Vp 44 today and we are getting white smoke, No codes, just white smoke no power and it's very noisy when put into drive. 2000 4x4 w/190k

It was only driven around the block a few times to build teperature.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you use the woodruf key that came with the pump, or reuse the old one?
The key is designed and numbered for the pump, as this is how the initial timimg is set.

 

Yes new pump came with new key attached. Put in place with slot in gear at 12o'clock.

We then hot wired the Lp and bled all the lines

it does sound like a timing issue

 

Just looked this morning key is not correctly in key way probably have to replace it.
