gear splitter of sorts

I have a 2500 24 valve six speed. This past weekend we went on a trip to the mountains dragging the 5th wheel. About 60 miles of twisting, down shifting,up shifting you get the idea. Anyway I'm thinking a gearsplitter of some sort because at times I was over reving and at other times I was bogging.
Has anyone on here installed one and are you happy with the results? If you would like to share your experience(s) with the rest of us as well as me I'm sure we would all appreciate your effort!

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
If pulling milage can justify, you might just consider going to 4.1 gear set. Especially if oversize tires are involved. Would sure be cheaper also.

When I see I long hill ahead of me, I try to get a running start on the down hill (75 mph or so) so I can crest the hill at no less than 50mph and under 1k EGT's.

are you running stock? if you are add a chip/box(edge EZ for example) and you wont need a gear splitter, as the added power will eliminate the need for over reving and lugging

gear vendors has a splitter but for that kind of money you can get a tuning box and turbo upgrade to get alot more usable power. my truck stock would go from 75 to 55 up a mountain empty! then i modded it a little (just a little) and we now accelerate up the same mountain with a tandem enclosed trailer with 5 bikes in it. the looks on people's faces when you pass them up the mountain is priceless.

If you are stock, you cannot over-rev when pulling. The engine will not turn fast enough to hurt itself. Not even with no load at all.

a friend of mine at work has one. I don't know if it is gearvenders or US gear. I know he likes it. He had it on a 2002 and when he traded for a 2007 he took it off bought the new section to fit the new truck and put it on his new one. I've always thought it would be nice to have. It doesn't do anything untill you are goin a certain speed, i think he said 30 mph. But it gave him double overdrive which greatly increased fuel milage and i think it gave him 9 speeds total. Think about it, big rigs have a lot of gears, makes it so you can find the right one for all situations and you can tow a lot more weight. Legally? Hmmm. I know if i had plenty of money i would definately do it.

Ok, i talked to him and he said it is gearvendors. He loves it. It has a safety switch so it won't come on in 4x4. Goes on behind transfer case. He also still has the driveshaft from the 2002 he had made for the gearvendor. He is willin to sell it if you end up getting one and you have a year truck it will fit. He said it just needs a yoke. Gotta be going over 20mph for it to work.
