fuel-mileage question
fuel-mileage question
I have an 01 2500. 5'' exhaust, rv275, fass fuel system, van aaken power box, bhaf Running on a set of 35'' toyo mt. I really only drive to work an back and works just over 2 miles from home. Should i be burning a whole tank in 6 days?? Just fueled up going to check mileage manually, my computer says im getting 21 to 25 mpg i know it aint right. Just changed fuel filter an air filter yesterday.
I drive about 15 miles to work, when i dont do any running around i can get a tank to last me about 2 weeks. But if i do my usual running around i can get about 5-6 days. i average about 300-320 miles a tank (I only run my tank down to 1/4) and i average about 16 miles a gallon. But my commute to work and back is all stop and go.
Also, what gears do you have in your truck?

Check your fuel mileage:
Miles traveled (from zeroed out trip odometer at last fill-up) divided by fuel used (how much diesel you put into the tank at the next fill-up) = mpg.
My overhead computer gives me about 2 mpg over what I'm actually getting....

something is definately not right. I travel about 30mi/day and can go about 2 weeks on a tank. There's no way you can burn thru a tank of fuel that fast, it just doesn't sound realistic. Do you have a leak....Or yes, is someone borrowing fuel from you?
