Unhappy Fuel gauge mistake

I purchased a 2001 HO in june and immediately had boost and EGT gauges installed on the pillar post. Now after reading about fuel pressure problems ,Iwant to install some type of fuel pressure gauge set-up. My question is where can I install it ,if I don't want to change my present pillar post gauge set up. Should I just get a test guage and check pressure at idle once a week or do I really need an in cab gauge to monitor constantly. I presently don't have any mods. but am planning on installing an
Edge EZ in spring of 2005.Thanks for the help

Since it's not something that you need to be constantly looking at, I mounted mine down beneath the ashtray w/ a donut mount from Genos Garage. There's plenty of places to mount gauges in the truck!

Try a steering colum pod, it has a cup for one gage, and can be found at either Summit or Jegs. I think I saw a whole settup for sale in the classified section here on DTR.

I run a mechanical guage (electronic sending units tend to die on the CTD when used for FP) and it's in a donut on top of the dash near the A-pillar. It's a Hewitt gauge and works great with good lighting.

I'd discourage the use of an isolator-- mine was supposedly diesel rated (but diesel chewed through it) and it caused erratic readings.

I ditched the isolator and ran a straight braided stainless line right to the gauge, with thread sealant (liquid, not tape). No leaks, accurate readings.

Don't worry about diesel in the cab with a mechanical gauge. Just take your time, use quality parts, cover the details (like sealant), and it'll be fine.

You can also get a mounting plate from Geno's to put a gauge in the useless cubby hole.

There is the Rod Pod from Wildcat available too. Works great and gives you a spot for some switches if you have the need.

There is a shot of one in my gallery.
