Dumb mistake again....
I got my new guages and decided to install them immediately. Well I was getting only 12psi at WOT on my boost guage, old guage read 20psi. I took a look at my connections on the guage and intake runner, well I crushed the hose with the brass fittings(torqued down too much). I am gonna scrap the 1/8 line and use some 1/4 I had with the proper fittings. Do ya'll think my readings will be thrown off with the larger hose???<br><br>Oh and CatCracker don't feel bad, I screwed up the connections on my fuel pressure guage when I took it apart, would not move off of 16psi , had to look at your thread to fix it. Thanks RattlinRam for the instructions.

"Do ya'll think my readings will be thrown off with the larger hose???"<br><br>Nope. Won't matter -- the hose will pressurize, it'll just take more air to do it, so changes in your readings will occur at a slower rate, but the difference won't be noticeable. I hate those nylon hoses -- gonna swap out mine for a copper line one of these days when I've got nothing better to do. <br><br>GP<br><br>

Thanks GP, I felt like a real idiot when I went out for a test drive and on my brand new spankin Auto-Meter it read 12psi, I almost cried. Good to know it will work, I feel less dumb now.<br><br>P.S. Zip it RattlinRam, I know you have something to say. :P

You would think someone trained in EOD would have a rudimentary knowledge of pressure? But then you might also think Al Gore really did invent the internet!

Not stupid that one he knows less work trucks out and about on the weekends. Would gladly give up my warm bed for a pile of wet leaves if I thought I could put an end to his madness. Worst part about being out of it, is having to let somebody else take over. Very capable people out there though and they will catch him err.. stop him! : 8)

He about came unglued when my boost guage needle went to the peg. Buddy now is wanting a full set of guages for his 99 CTD. All in all I am real happy with the Auto-Meters so far.
