fuel gauge
my fuel gage has gotten to were it will only go down to about a half of a tank, and thats it never shows less than that, would it be my sending unit in the tank giving the trouble, or the gauge itself.

Push in the trip button next to the ODO and hold it down. Turn the key on, but DO NOT START the truck. Keep holding the trip button for about ten seconds and the gauge cluster will go into daignostic mode and say something like "CHK" on the odo display. All the lights should light up individually and then it will work it's way through the individual gauges. It should stop at three preset calibration points on each gauge. Record what the fuel gauge reads and any error codes that pop up. From there you should have enough info for us to be able to help you more.

Had exactly the same problem on mine. Replaced the tank sender and all is good again. I talked with one of the mechanics at my dealer and he joked he sent his kids to college replacing those.
