Yup. Pull off the wheel, the brake caliper, and the brake caliper holder and it just falls off in your hand. There can be a couple of little clips on the studs that hold it on but all you have to do to get those off is grab them with a pair of pliers and pull. Very simple job.

that's what i thought too. but when i pulled the wheel off there was that 1 ton adaptor thingy bolted to the hub assy. so, i need to remove that thingy and then the snap retainers? i really need to do my front brakes. so i really appreciate the help in getting this sorted out. the thought of taking to a shop just kills me when if i know ahead off time what i am getting into i can do it myself. thanks again.
also this truck is a 4x4 too.

If you've removed everything from around the rotor and the adapter is stopping you, then it sounds like you need to pull the adapter off to.

Im in Va and when we get used stuff from your part of the country we almost always have to REPLACE brake rotors for rust. Its a fact of life up there. Ive seen oil pans rotted thru. Its the salt used in winter. Man that stuff is a killer. Id say after the rotors were cut they had a better stopping surface and the increased pressures pulled them apart.
