Figured out the pop in my front end
Got underneath the truck today to find the pop that has plagued my truck since I installed the lift. Tightened everything up and it was still there. Looked a little harder and discovered something disturbing. Apparently, whenever the dealer changed my ball joints out, they forgot to reinstall the caliper bolts on the front drivers side caliper.
Needless to say, I'm a little mad. I was able to get some new ones for the time being. After looking at the rear, I noticed that the bolts that go through the center of the leaf springs, the tie bolts, one's completely sheared off and the other one is about half gone. That would probably explain the shutter in my rear end accelerating from a stop.
Skyjacker is sending me new ones out free of charge. They said something was wrong if that happened. Great. If the rear axle was out of alignment, then wouldn't the dealer have noticed that when they did the alignment on it (which is off now as well). If it ain't one thing it's another.
